Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association installed the organization’s 67th president on June 16th, 2018.  Will Womack, Class VIII graduate and president of Tampa Bay Landscaping, is the new FNGLA president!

Read FNGLA’s presidential interview with Will here.

WLIANR program director Dr. Hannah Carter spoke on Will’s behalf at the induction ceremony.

Dr. Carter had actually left Glascow, Scotland many hours before after having said goodbye to Class X and adjourning their international trip experience.  Dr. Carter flew into Fort Myers to be sure to make the ceremony and induct Will as president.

Her speech was very moving and complimentary to Will’s leadership, and it goes to show that we can be willing to travel the world for the ones who are dearest to us.

Other major WLIANR-affiliated recognitions during the FNGLA meeting include a keynote address and two major award recipients.

Representative Halsey Beshears, Class V, served as the conference’s keynote speaker.

Billy Butterfield, Class VI, was honored with the Wendell Butler award.  Billy is the president of Ameriscapes Landscape.

Last but not least, Dr. Hannah Carter was recognized by FNGLA for receiving the Outstanding Educator of the Year award!

While sitting at a dinner table in Scotland during his WLIANR international trip, Class X member Tom Mitchell, vice president of Riverfront Packing Company, received the message that he had been elected to serve Florida Citrus Mutual as the organization’s newest president.

Congratulations to Tom Mitchell for becoming FCM’s newest president!

We are so thrilled for Tom, and we look forward to seeing his leadership shape the industry in the next two years!

Also during the FCM meeting, Class IX graduate Daniel Scott of Scott Citrus Management led an educational workshop.

Way to lead your industry, Daniel!!
